Travel Tips for a pleasant stay in Santorini.

c You really need to know that in Santorini the water is not drinkable. Always use bottled water to drink. You can cook and bath with the regular water though.
c It is very difficult to find a taxi or a bus at the airport or the port so make sure you will book a transportation before you come or you night find yourself waiting for hours in the heat and end up to overcharged.
c Last year 25 weddings where cancelled either because the "wedding planer" took the deposits and run or because the "wedding planner was not a wedding planner and messed up with the legal documents requirements! Be careful...the Greek laws are very strict and maybe you will find many that organize weddings but they are not the right people to trust. Choose a certified wedding planer and not hotels and restaurants or foreigners who they are not even registered with our Ministry of Tourism or they don't even leave here or year around. It is your wedding after all! Do you want to take the chance?
c Visiting the volcano requires to have with you water, light clothes, sport shoes and a very good sun tan lotion. The volcano is the ocean so you can go there with a local boat. Also you can swim to the Hot Spinks.
c Banks are open from 8 am to 2 pm, Monday to Friday and the ATM's give you only 300 euro, unless you have specifically asked your bank to open the limit for your trip.
c In case you will need to visit our local hospital, please note that it is free of charge.
c In Santorini we do not have street name or addresses so make sure that you will have the phone number of your accommodation.

Travel Advices
Water
Santorini is a volcanic island therefore there is no drinkable water. We drill the earth to get salty water which we desalinate and we use it to bath and cook. So, while you are in Santorini use bottled water that you can find everywhere in the local market and do not drink from the tab.

Transfers
It is very difficult to find a taxi or a bus at the airport or the port so make sure you will book a transportation before you come or you night find yourself waiting for hours in the heat and end up to overcharged.

Family Travel
Due to the unique structure of Santorini, if you have children under 12 years old we advise you to avoid the Caldera side of Santorini that is on the cliffs and prefer the beach hotels that are more safe and fun for your children.

No street names
In Santorini we do not have street name or addresses so make sure that you will have the phone number of your accommodation.
