Our
sailing boats, schooner ‘Bella
Aurora’ and brigantine
‘Thalassa’ are moored in the
picturesque port of Fira, the
capital of Santorini Greece.
Both ‘Bella Aurora’ and
‘Thalassa’ are exact replicas of the
kinds of Santorini sailing boats
that were used during the 18th and
the beginning of the 19th century,
the ‘Golden Age of Sails’.
We have built our sailing boats for
the following reasons. Firstly,
because of our love for the sea and
the golden maritime era that has
been described in the classic works
of literature by Jules Verne, Jack
London and Herman Melville.
Secondly, to provide visitors of our
beautiful island with the
opportunity to live unforgettable
moments and experience the magic of
that adventurous and exciting era,
while sipping your drink and
listening to pleasant music on the
deck of ‘Bella Aurora’ or ‘Thalassa’.
Join
us on one of our wonderful and
relaxing Caldera cruise in Santorini,
which embarks at the charming old
port in the capital town of Fira,
for a magical afternoon cruise in
the Caldera area aboard one of the
Santorini sailing yacht charters
"Bella Aurora" and "Thalassa".

Our Santorini cruises include a visit
to the quaint port of Nea Kammeni and the
volcano, where the waters are green and
sulphurous. From there, you will be guided
to the rim of the volcano’s crater to admire
the scenery while standing on the hot,
rugged rock. In several places, sulphurous
smoke is also emitted. All participants must
wear sturdy and comfortable walking shoes,
as well as a hat and sunscreen to protect
them from the hot sun.
Next, our cruise takes us to the hot
springs, where you can bathe in the warm
volcanic waters. While you are enjoying your
swim, the captain and his crew prepare a
meal of traditional mezedes (Greek hor-d'oeuvres),
which will be accompanied by delicious
Santorinian wine.
Our cruise passes by the isle of
Thirassia, the second largest island in
the Caldera cluster, which came into
existence after separating from the main
mass of Santorini Island during the eruption
of the volcano in the 17 th century BC. From
the decks of our sailing boats ‘Bella
Aurora’ and ‘Thalassa’, you are offered a
magnificent view and photo opportunity of
picturesque Oia, and the small ports of
Armeni and Amoudi, which are situated on the
northern tip of the island. Finally, you can
listen to relaxing music while admiring the
enchanting sunset as we sail back to Fira
Town. |

We sail during the
afternoon (15:30pm) until the sunset
(21:00pm)! You will board our authentic
Brigantine Thalassa
at the picturesque old port of Fira.
We will set sail for the small port of the
Nea Kameni volcano. When we arrive your
guide will lead you up to the rim of the
volcanic crater where smoke rises up and the
stones are hot to the touch.
Leaving the
volcano, our ship heads for the “hot
springs”. There you can bathe in the warm
waters (don’t forget your bathing suit and
towel) while the captain and his crew
prepare some traditional Greek meze
(appetizers) and you’ll have the chance to
taste the renowned wine from Santorini.
During the remainder of our voyage, we pass
by Thirassia, the second largest of the
complex of islands forming the Caldera, and
separated from the main mass of the island
during the 1500 BC eruption.
Next we come to the northern tip of
Santorini and the town of Ia with its two
small seaports of Ammoudi and Armeni. From
our sailing boat we have a unique vantage
point for viewing the lovely traditional
settlement of Ia. Here you can relax and
enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Then we will set the sails and head back to
Fira enjoying the wine and live saxophone
music as the sun magically sets into the
sea.
*During the whole cruise and especially all
the way up the volcano there is a guide
informing you of the island's history.
The price includes the wine and the snacks "mezedes"
the captain offers you as well as the
entrance fee to the Volcano.
(greek apetizers: bread, small santorini
tomatoes, cucumber, olives, cheese, small
sausages, small meatballs, small spinach
pies, eggplant salad, garlic, tzatziki salad
and of course santorini wine).
*If the sea is rough, you may cancel and
either take the tour on another day, or we
will return you the money of the tickets!
*If you decide to take the tour we will need
an early notification from you as well as
your credit card info. |
